Remembrance Sunday
12th November 2017
Armistice Day is on November 11. Also known as Remembrance Day, this annual day of remembrance marks the end of World War I and a 2 minute silence is held to remember those who have died in wars.
Remembrance Sunday is the second Sunday of November. Nationally, ceremonies are held at war memorials, cenotaphs and religious buildings to invite the community to take part in acts of Remembrance.
Remembrance Day events are important community events, and most community organisations, such as the Scouts, will be traditionally involved.
Many acts of remembrance are organised by the Royal British Legion. More information to support your Section explore remembrance can be found in the Royal British Legion Education packs.
