The team’s focus is to respond to requests for practical support and resources related to the life-enriching experiences we run for our youth membership in the Widnes, Runcorn, Frodsham and surrounding villages. This could be anything from the planning stages right through to event break down when it’s all over – and most things in between!
We’re on the lookout for an awesome individual to lead our team of volunteers and make sure we rock at throwing epic events! As the Team Leader, you’ll be the go-to person for our team members and the rest of the District Team. We need someone who’s a top-notch communicator, keeping everyone in the loop with the latest updates and coordinating the support we provide at events. Reporting to the District Lead Volunteer and the Support Team Leader, you’ll be the mastermind behind our volunteer team’s success. So if you’ve got the energy and passion to help us create unforgettable experiences, we want you on our team!
No previous experience of Scouting is needed, so whether you just enjoy event planning as a side interest or are studying an Event Management qualification and want some experience then we would really like to hear from you.
Services of the Team could include:
- Event Management
- Promotion and Marketing of the event
- Managing responses
- Sending out confirmation information
- Event People
- Site preparation, setup and takedown
- Admission control and administration
- Catering
- Marshalling
- General Activity support
- Car Park stewarding
- Pedestrian routing
- Site Services & Logistics
- Security

- Plus more!
The Team’s services complement those of our other “specialist/technical skills based” ASUs (Technology/IT, Hillwalking & Trekking, Target Sports) who are focussed on the delivery of technical content of events (Archery instructors, Rifle range Officers and Instructors, 3D printer instructors, etc.)
We understand not everyone can spare the time to become a leader but joining a Support Teamis a great way of getting involved with Scouting. There is no need to have been involved in Scouting or Guiding before; all that is required is a willingness to give some of your time. In return, you will make friends and be able to join with others helping make a difference for our adult and youth members through experiencing great events.
