Mersey Weaver Scout’s Trustee Board is a team of volunteers who work together, as charity Trustees, to make sure Mersey Weaver Scouts is run safely and legally. At the heart of their role is a focus on strategy, performance, and assurance.
Together, Trustees make sure the charity is well managed, their support helps other volunteers run a fantastic programme that gives young people skills for life (and experiences they’ll remember forever).
We are looking for people to support our lead volunteer and chair with their professional experience and skills. We are looking for individuals who can support the organisation for a minimum of 3 years.
The board meets once a month for 2-3 hours for 8 months of the year, take part in an annual away weekend plus an Annual General Meeting.
Trustees work together to make sure the District:
- Manages money well
- Follows Scouts policies and relevant legislation
- Act as custodians of our buildings, insurance and property
- Manage risks
- Help the charity to operate well, today and in the future
We would especially welcome applications from people aged 18 – 30, from BAME backgrounds and women.
Trustees support leaders to deliver a fantastic programme, while having a laugh, making new friends, and learning new skills themselves.
Trustees play a key part in Scouts, and keep an eye on our vision. They make sure young people have the best experience at Scouts, and check things are being done safely and legally.
