Mersey Weaver Scout District is keen to encourage and support the training and development of those wishing to lead adventurous activities and events within Scouting in the District.
It is recognised that in many cases it is not appropriate to expect those attending such training to finance attendance out of their own pocket. It has therefore been agreed to provide District monies to provide sponsorship funding to help meet this goal.
A Designated Fund has been established to support this aim. Training can be fully funded in exchange for a reasonable number of sessions assisting at District events and Activity Centres.
For example:
Permit Training | Est Cost | 100% Funding | 50% | 25% |
---|---|---|---|---|
Archery | £110 | 7 sessions | 4 sessions | 2 sessions |
Air Rifle or Pistol (NRSA Young Persons Tutor Diploma) | £110 | 7 sessions | 4 sessions | 2 sessions |
Canoeing | 16 hours | 8 hours | 4 hours | |
Dinghy Sailing | 16 hours | 8 hours | 4 hours | |
Kayaking | 16 hours | 8 hours | 4 hours | |
Hillwalking – Terrain 1 | £150 | 16 hours | 8 hours | 4 hours |
Hillwalking – Terrain 2 | £260 | 24 hours | 12 hours | 6 hours |
Climbing | £160 | 16 hours | 8 hours | 4 hours |
First Aid Instructor (e.g. Level 3 Award in Education and Training Combined First Aid Trainer) | £350 | 12 sessions over 3 years | 7 sessions over 3 years | 4 sessions over 3 years |
Where training events have no current estimated costs the request will be considered on a case by case basis
