District Scout Shooting Competition 2022

The Event
The Target Sports ASU are organising a Scout air gun Shooting competition. It is open to Scouts entering as individuals or as part of teams submitted by Troops. Closing date for entries is the 16th Oct 2022.
All equipment will be supplied by the Mersey Weaver Target Sports ASU. This will ensure a level playing field. Shooting will take place from 6 yard line. Each team member can enter/shoot :
PCP air rifle, three cards of five targets each 1 shot
Springer air rifle, three cards of five targets each 1 shot
Springer air pistol, three targets each 5 shots.
PCP air pistol, three targets each 5 shots
It is up to individuals/Teams to complete shooting all of their targets within the range opening hours.
Timings (subject to number of entrants this may change)
Saturday 27th (Air Rifle)
9:00am Registration
9:30am Briefing
10:00am Range open, shooting commences
12:30 – 1:30pm Range closed for lunch
5:00pm Range closes for the day
Sunday 28th (air pistol and knockout)
9:30am Range re-opens, shooting recommences
Noon Range closed.
1pm – 2pm Knockout competition – Five fall when hit targets (10 shots, 2 minute limit)
2:30pm awards ceremony
3:30pm depart
Teams
Troops may enter team(s) made up of 3 Scouts. The team requirements are:
all participants must be members of a Scout Troop in Mersey Weaver District; and
all team members must be at least 10 1/2 years old and under 14 years 6 months on Sunday 30th October.
Team memberships must be submitted by the team by 9am 27th October.
Permission to Shoot Form
All participants must bring a Permission to Shoot Form completed and signed by their parent/guardian/carer, this is a LEGAL requirement. It is the responsibility of the Scout Leader to ensure these is completed and if paper copies are completed they are shown to the District Shooting Advisor when booking in.
Parents can provide this direct to the organisers by completing:

*Note: there is an option when completing the online form to specify a specific location or a time period. If a parent has already provided a Permission form earlier this year (from an open shoot event for example) covering the period of the competition they do not need to provide another.

All team members will receive a Mersey Weaver District Certificate of Participation which can be used as proof of completion of competition element of the Master-at- Arms badge requirements.
