The role holder proactively encourages and enables Scout Network members (aged 18-25) to shape and participate in the Scout Network programme, including supporting the forming of teams from Network Members to take part in activities and projects in which they have a shared interest.
- Encourage members of the Scout Network to undertake awards, particularly including the Diamond Chief Scout’s Award, the Queen’s Scout Award, Explorer Belt, Scouts of the World Award and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. Support members to access opportunities to complete these awards.
- Ensure that there is adequate support for Scout Network in the District so that all young adults aged 18-25 can participate in the programme.
- You would work closely with the District Explorer Scout Commissioner to encourage and support the transition of Explorer Scouts into the Scout Network.
- Working with the District Youth Commissioner, actively encourage young adults to consider the full range of adult appointments, including Scout Active Support membership, during their time as a Scout Network member, particularly as they approach the age of 25
In this role you would also be a member of our District Executive and Trustee of Mersey Weaver District Scout Council and therefore help to ensure that there are sufficient resources in the District to support the delivery of Scouting in the District.
