Wednesday evening saw me at the northernmost Group in our District for the AGM at 12th Widnes.
I don’t think I’ve ever been offered a cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit within such a short time of entering building. Wonderful hospitality and a perfect start to proceedings!
12th is certainly a busy place. They’re a joint Scout and Guide Group and they also have Aquila Explorer Unit operating from the same HQ. The place was buzzing with people and it was wonderful to see such enthusiasm for the Scouting (and Guiding!) they provide.
I also met 4 of our District contingent for the 2015 World Scout Jamboree in Japan who are working hard to raise the £26,000 they need to fund the trip and were there to talk about what they’ve been up to so far. What an inspiring group of young people!
