We are delighted to announce that the Chief Scout, Bear Grylls has awarded Blake, Caleb and Oscar three Scouts from 1st Helsby, the prestigious ‘Chief Scout’s Personal Award’, in recognition of their bravery to challenge antisocial behaviour and for reporting vandalism to the emergency services in September last year.

We are incredibly proud of the actions of the three boys – their character exemplifies our Scout values and they deserve the recognition. They are huge credit to Scouting in Helsby and Mersey Weaver as well as their local community.

We hope to present the three Scouts with their certificates, letters and badges in a socially distanced way (restrictions permitted) in the new year at one of the Group’s section meetings. The three Scouts will appear in the 2021 roll of honour in March 2021.

A huge thank you to Scout Leader Fiona who notified us of their actions.
