The Event Support ASU’s provides logistical and administrative support in the running of activities and events for the District.
The Unit’s focus is to respond to requests for practical support and resources related to the life-enriching experiences we run for our youth membership in the Widnes, Runcorn, Frodsham and surrounding villages. This could be anything from the planning stages right through to event break down when it’s all over – and most things in between!
Services of the ASU include:
- Promotion and Marketing of the event
- Managing responses
- Sending out confirmation information
- Site preparation, setup and takedown
- Admission control and administration
- General Activity support
- Car Park stewarding
- Pedestrian routing
- Site Services & Logistics
- Construction & Technical Advice
- Plus more!
The ASU’s services complement those of our other “specialist/technical skills based” ASUs (Technology/IT, Hillwalking & Trekking, Target Sports) who are focussed on the delivery of technical content of events (Archery instructors, Rifle range Officers and Instructors, 3D printer instructors, etc.)
With many members being ex-leaders or Scouts themselves they have a wealth of knowledge and experience and are a great resource within the District.
The Active Support Unit is managed by the Event Support Active Support Manager who is responsible for delivery against the objectives and the routine running of the Unit.
For assistance with an activity with your Beaver/Cub/Scout/Explorer Section or Scout Group, please contact the Event Support ASU Manager Alex Cowan
Interested in Joining an ASU?
You do not need to be a current member of the Scout Association to join an Active Support Unit. Therefore, if you are interested in helping to promote archery and air rifle shooting to young people and improve their skills then please consider joining our Target Sports ASU.
