ENERGETIC Beavers, Cubs and Scouts are celebrating raising hundreds of pounds to help keep the lifeboats afloat.
Following a visit by volunteers from the RNLI, members of the 3rd Frodsham Sea Scout Group decided to hold a fundraising activity to raise much-needed cash for the lifesaving charity.
At the start of this month the youngsters took up the challenge to row as far as they could in just 12 hours.
Using two rowing machines, which were loaned to the pack by Runcorn Rowing Club, the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts each had a go at the challenge, rowing an amazing 260km or the equivalent of going from Liverpool to Dublin in just 12 hours.
So far 3rd Frodsham Sea Scouts have raised impressive £650, but with some money still to be collected, leaders hope that the money will help support members of the RNLI and the vital work they do.
