Mersey Weaver Target Sports had a very successful performance at Waterloo 2026 Shooting Competition taking the U18 Team Silver Medal amongst several other medals. The Waterloo shooting competition is organised by South West Cheshire Scouts and with 310 competitors f made it the largest Scout Shooting Competition in the UK; participants came from as far away as Dumbartonshire , Scotland.

Mersey Weaver’s 7 Scout and Explorers took a haul of 13 medals in total.

A huge BRAVO to our youngest member of the team, Marthy Hill-Davis, taking 5 medal positions out of the 10 disciplines in the U12’s competition .

This tremendous performance, against other participants who compete at the national level, is a testament to our youth members who take part in our District Target Sports programme and particularly the dedication and effort of those who participate in the District Shooting Squad monthly training sessions run by our Target Sports Team. Over the past few months, they have honed their skills and sharpened their focus, culminating in this outstanding achievement.

Our Target Sports Team run monthly Open Shoot sessions typically on the 1st Saturday every month between September and July which is open to all Cubs, Scout, Young Leaders and Explorers. Parents can book their youth member on a session by click on this link
