The heroes of Cheshire Hike were everywhere you looked – from the young people tackling a real challenge based on their skills and endurance to the army of volunteers manning starts, checkpoints or base camp.
Across the weekend over 6,000 observation points were collected, 31,000km were hiked and 44 million footsteps were taken.
Mersey Weaver had a whopping 15 teams who took part in the endeavour and with everyone’s teamwork, the district had results from all over the board.
Our District winners:
🏆 Pathfinder winners: Team 181 – 1st Moore
🏆 Pathfinder Plus winners: Team 322 – 1st Norley (also came first in the County)
🏆 Explorer winners: Team 517 – Draco ESU (also came first in the County)
“It was a real pleasure to see all our teams, present the award to our winners, two of them won the County Awards also, which is exceptional. This achievement is not only a demonstration of how capable our young people are but also the amazing sections that have nurtured them, the Hike Practice events, and all the volunteers behind the scenes that helps our teams to put on such a great performance. Go Mersey Weaver!”
Tom Salvini, District Lead Volunteer.
