As you know The Scout Association helps over 450,000 young people enjoy new adventures, gain confidence and have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Not only does the Movement offer 6 to 25-year-olds fun and challenging activities, we also support young people to help others, so that we make a positive impact in our communities.
A Million Hands is our new ground-breaking partnership with some of the UK’s biggest charities. Our aim is to  give over half a million Scouts the chance to take action on four social issues that matter to young people today.
On Sunday morning a group of Mersey Weaver Scouts and Explorers will be amongst another 100 taking part in a range of fun activities on mental health, dementia, disability and access to clean water and sanitation.
During the afternoon they will take part in a panel discussion on : Power and opportunity: Do young people want to play a part in their community and what impact could they have?’
To help explore this further, we’re joined by Charlotte Hill, Chief Executive of Step Up To Serve, the independent campaign convened by HRH The Prince of Wales to increase opportunities for young people to get involved in social action.
We’re also have with us  Stephen Canning, Deputy Chairman of Conservative Future, which is the under-thirty’s wing of the Conservative Party.
