It was announced on Tuesday 19 November that Graham Phillips, County Commissioner with Cheshire Scouts has been appointed Deputy Lieutenant in Cheshire. The role is to assist the Lord Lieutenant, Mr David Briggs in the performance of any requested public duties.
David Briggs said, “This appointment enables me to recognise officially the outstanding public service rendered to Cheshire by Graham Phillips.”
Graham was appointed County Commissioner just over four years ago following his time as a Cub Scout Leader, Group Scout Leader, District Chairman and Gang Show Director in Warrington. He has recently agreed to extend his term of office as County Commissioner and has been appointed nationally to serve on the Operations Sub Committee, leading a group looking at communication in Scouting.
Graham commented, “Obviously this is a great personnel honour and it is recognition the contribution Scouting makes to the lives of young people in Cheshire”
