On 24th November, the Cheshire Inter District Shooting Competition took place, showcasing the talents of shooters from various districts. The event was filled with excitement and displayed remarkable marksmanship skills. After a day of intense competition, South West Cheshire emerged as the overall champions, securing first place. Mersey Weaver followed closely behind as the runners-up, demonstrating their prowess in the sport. This competition not only highlighted individual talent but also fostered community spirit among the participants. Congratulations to South West Cheshire and Mersey Weaver for their outstanding performances!
In the team pistol & rifle competition, the winners were South West Cheshire, a team known for their exceptional skills and remarkable teamwork, which played a crucial role in their success. They showcased their talents throughout the event, demonstrating precision and dedication. Meanwhile, the runners-up, Mersey Weaver, also performed admirably, displaying their own strength and determination in challenging rounds. Both teams brought an intense level of competition with only a few points between them which created an exhilarating atmosphere that highlighted the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie in the event.
In the highly competitive reserves competition, Nia of Mersey Weaver took top place, a very impressive performance as this is the first time she has shot in over a year and had only shoot for a few moths before that.
In the Individual overall competition, South West Cheshire took 1st (Ben) and 2nd (Sam), with Kyle from Mersey Weaver in 3rd place. There was only 21 points between the top three.
Of note is that Mersey Weaver took 4 of the top 8 spots in the individual rifle (Joseph 4th, Kyle 5th, Saul 6th & Luke 8th) and in the individual pistol Kyle took 3rd place having just missed out on 2nd place by 1 point, In the individual aggregate, Mersey Weaver had 3 in the top nine (Kyle 3rd, Saul 7th and Joseph 9th).
Congratulations also go to Warrington East in 3rd Place and a special mention to Chester District who entered for the first time and for many in their team it was their first time using PCP rules and pistols.
