Incredibly we celebrated the achievements of over 35 adults in Mersey Weaver yesterday! (even not including the long service awards and wood badges presented this was our largest number of awards.. ever!)

We held the presentation at our 25 year celebration of our much loved ‘Hideaway’ in Queen Charlotte’s Wood. It was a fantastic event with hog roast, Pimms and croquet. It presented an opportunity for our hardworking volunteers to let their hair down and enjoy the beautiful campsite with Scouting friends.

Congratulation to all who received an Award and thank you to for all that you do for young people in Mersey Weaver.

The Laavu

At the event we made a surprise unveiling of a new camping shelter called, “The Lavu”, which is Finnish for “lean-to”. The structure has been dedicated to 63 years of outstanding service by Ian Nicholas who up until this June was joint campsite manager with his wife April. Our thanks does to the incredible team who designed and made it.
