Youth Lead Team

This team lead the district youth shape strategy and chair the youth forum. They work as part of the District Leadership Team but also commission projects and initiatives of their own.

The District Youth Lead provides young people in the district a voice at a senior level. Ensuring that 6 – 25 year olds are involved and engaged in every decision that shapes their Scouting experience.

Youth Shape Team

The team is made up of Explorer Scouts and Network Members who want to roll up their sleeves and work on youth led projects in Mersey Weaver. The team is led by the District Youth Leads, and they work in partnership with the District Team. Through the Youth Forum, the Youth Shape Team are empowered to commission projects and initiatives of their own

Youth Forum

The Forum is a sub-committee of the District Trustee Board. It takes on the responsibility of representing the whole youth membership within the District and providing a voice for all young people at an influential level. 

Interested in joining the Youth Shape Team?

The Youth Shape Team are a group of 14-25 year olds that work with the District Youth Lead to achieve a number of aims:

  • Develop Youth Shaped Scouting by encouraging sections and groups to engage with young people and include them in decision making at all levels
  • Provide peer support to other young people through their Scout journey
  • Give young people the opportunity to be involved with projects that enhance local Scouting and allow them to flex skills, competencies and learn new ones
  • Promote all the opportunities in Scouts including the YouShape, 365 Steps of Wellbeing and Chief/Queen Scout Awards
