This core team of Commissioners provide leadership and management across Mersey Weaver ensuring young people can access the very best opportunities in life and that they do so safely. The Senior Leadership Team are responsible for the day to day oversight of the District. We are a friendly bunch of people and welcome people approaching us for advice, support or to give valuable feedback so we can strive to do better.
Oliver Chambers
Lead Volunteer
Oliver has overall responsibility for the District. He approves all activities. It is his role to ensure the district runs effectively and that Scouting develops in accordance with the rules and policies of The Scout Association so that young people can benefit from good quality scouting.
Emma Cummings
Volunteering Development Team Leader
Emma’s specific area of responsibility is group support. She advises and line manages the Group Scout Leaders ensuring this team of managers are equipped with everything they need to succeed.
Yvonne Woodward
Programme Team Leader
Yvonne’s specific area of responsibility is programme support. She looks after the volunteer journey and supports our Assistant District Commissioners ensuring everyone feels valued and supported in their role and young people get the very best programme.
Grace Wheeler
District Youth Lead
The District Youth Commissioner provides young people in the district a voice at a senior level. Ensuring that 6 – 25 year olds are involved and engaged in every decision that shapes their Scouting experience.
Derek Hillbeck
Advisor
Derek’s specific area of responsibility is governance. He advises Group Trustee Boards ensuring this team are equipped with everything they need to help groups succeed and operate within the law.
